This is one of those pieces where the way it is presented on this site captures my attention. The grainy quality of the sculptures and the angles at which the piece is shot have a message of their own.
The first two have a documentary feel whereas the third is more confrontational, has a relationship with the viewer. The first two, I feel more like a spectator, a voyeur. The bottom one makes me wonder if the figure is praying to me! Or perhaps I get a greater sense of having a connection with the figure, it has a more personal feel.
In terms of feedback, proportions come to mind. The head is very large in relation to the thin figure. Is the figure a kind of ascetic, or is it something differently entirely, an alien of sorts?
I like how the figure and the blanket/robe blend together and form a mass. Not sure why exactly, maybe it's that feeling in meditation of a greater sense of interconnectedness.
Thanks for submitting your work Celina. Nice to have it posted here.
